About the Opportunity

The Governance team provides strategic governance advice and high-quality governance services to the Board and its Committees, ensuring governance obligations are met and governance practices continue to evolve in line with contemporary standards and best practice. The Governance Officer plays a critical role in coordinating governance activities, maintaining governance records, supporting entity compliance requirements and facilitating the efficient operation of governance bodies across the Group.

The Governance Officer works autonomously under broad to strategic direction in relation to work priorities and practices and exercises professional judgement in managing priorities, improving governance processes and contributing to the development, review and implementation of governance systems, procedures and reporting. The role requires strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of the organisation.

This is a permanent, full-time role, with a base salary of $83,900 to $88,900 plus superannuation. This role is predominantly work from home, in addition to our Box Hill offices 1 to 2 days per week. Please note that Wednesday is a mandatory Office Day for the team. 

About You

You are an emerging governance professional who is passionate about supporting strong decision-making, accountability and organisational success. You bring experience in governance, company secretariat, compliance, legal administration or a related discipline, together with exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.

You are comfortable working with Board and Executive stakeholders, enjoy coordinating complex governance activities and are motivated to build a career in governance within one of Victoria's leading not-for-profit organisations.
