About the role

The Housing Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operational coordination of YMCA Community Housing, supporting effective tenancy management, property coordination, compliance, reporting, and tenant engagement.

This role helps ensure safe, consistent, and high-quality housing services are delivered in line with organisational policies, legislative requirements, and funding obligations. You will work closely with the Regional Lead and Group Manager, while providing practical day to day leadership and support to the housing team.

The role plays an important part in supporting sustainable tenancies and helping residents feel safe, respected, and connected.

Key responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Coordinate day to day tenancy operations, including tenant intake, signups, exits and tenancy records
• Monitor occupancy, vacancies, rent arrears and tenancy risks, escalating matters where required
• Support tenants to sustain their tenancies through early intervention and appropriate referrals
• Manage tenant complaints, disputes and breaches in line with legislation and YMCA policy
• Coordinate property maintenance, inspections and contractor engagement to support safe and well-maintained housing
• Maintain accurate tenancy, property and compliance records and prepare operational reports
• Support internal and government reporting requirements
• Assist with financial administration, including rent monitoring, arrears, bonds and expenditure tracking
• Provide day to day guidance and support to team members, students and volunteers
• Build and maintain positive relationships with tenants, community services, contractors, and stakeholders
• Contribute to quality improvement, audits, and continuous service improvement
• Promote a Housing First, trauma informed and person-centred approach across the service

About you

You will bring:

• Experience in tenancy management, housing, property coordination, or a related community services environment
• A sound understanding of the Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act, or a willingness to learn
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage respectfully with diverse groups
• Experience supporting people experiencing vulnerability, housing stress, or complex needs
• The ability to provide practical guidance and support within a team environment
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and database systems
• A commitment to inclusive, safe, and respectful service delivery

Drivers Licence and willing to travel between sites from Nerang to Slacks Creek one to two times weekly.
