YETI (Youth Empowerment Towards Independence)

Youth Empowered Towards Independence (YETI) is a community based not-for-profit organisation that delivers a range of voluntary youth AOD and other support services targeting the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people living within the Cairns and FNQ region.

As part of our Executive Management Team this role reports directly to the CEO to oversee the responsibility of the day to day running of the service with a focus on operations, performance, and personnel. The Operations Manager leads a team of operational roles including the HR Officer, Office Manager, and the Communications Officer. The Operations Manager works closely with the CEO to implement organisational strategy.

The successful candidate will oversee the following key operational areas of the organisation:

Operations

  • Oversight of the day-to-day running of the service
  • Improving operational management systems, processes, and best practices
  • Manage staff rosters and resources to meet organisational goal
  • Oversight of program management, continual improvement, and review
  • Ensuring programs are delivered in line with YETI's policies, legislation, standards, and best practice
  • Where necessary contribute to service design and development to assist program managers in delivering programs based on standards, data, research, resources, and community need.

Contract Management

  • Ensuring execution and compliance with multiple funding contracts so delivery is by contractual specifications and KPIs are met
  • Compile quality performance reports with program managers to demonstrate compliance against KPI’s ensuring systems are in place to support the achievement of program outcomes
  • Key liaison with funders

Quality and Compliance

  • Oversight/ Management of YETI's quality and compliance
  • Management of policies and procedures
  • Management of LOGIQC quality management system

Human Resources

  • Managing HR Officer
  • Oversight of compliance with award and HR legislation
  • Supporting the development/ management of HR tools (including performance management, supervision etc.)
  • Oversight of maintenance of registers and records

Communications

  • Work with the Communications Officer and other staff to ensure the development of YETI graphic design, branding, and promotional materials
  • Monitor and coordinate website development, and SharePoint intranet updates as required

To apply for this role, you will have:

  1. Demonstrated experience in operations management, contract management, quality systems, and/or human resources
  2. Appropriate educational qualifications and/or significant experience related to business, human resources and/or administration
  3. High-level strategic communication skills to liaise with key stakeholders both internally and externally
  4. Excellent data analysis skills and technical ability to manage internal systems across an organisation
  5. Demonstrated experience in leading a team across multiple professional streams
  6. High-level understanding of the legislative framework governing community service operations with the ability to link to strategic direction

The following criteria must also be met:

  • Eligibility for a Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or exemption based on professional qualifications and registration.
  • A current Qld driver’s licence.
  • Evidence of eligibility to legally work in Australia.
