Women With Disabilities Australia (WWDA) is seeking a skilled and passionate Member Engagement Officer to support the delivery of our membership engagement activities.

WWDA serves as the national Disabled People’s Organisation (DPO) and National Women’s Alliance (NWA), advocating for the rights of women, girls, feminine-identifying, and non-binary people with disabilities across Australia.

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this important role, you will support the coordination and delivery of WWDA’s member engagement activities, ensuring members are meaningfully engaged, informed, and able to contribute to WWDA’s work and priorities.

You will assist with managing the membership lifecycle, maintaining CRM data and member engagement and supporting the delivery of advisory mechanisms that encourage opportunities for engagement in WWDA policy work.

Working collaboratively across WWDA, you will help ensure members’ voices and lived experience inform our advocacy and organisational work.

This role is suited to a proactive and organised professional with strong relationship management skills, membership administration and the ability to work effectively in a remote workplace environment.

45.6 hours per fortnight (22.8 hours per week / 3 days per week)

Must be available to work either Monday or Tuesday, with flexible days across Wednesday to Friday.

KEY RESPONSIBILITiES

  • Support the implementation of WWDA’s membership engagement activities.
  • Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with individual and organisational members.
  • Coordinate and respond to member communications and enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide timely support and guidance to members, escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Support reporting on membership data and engagement activities to inform organisational planning.
  • Assist with managing the membership lifecycle, including onboarding, renewals and retention.
  • Maintain accurate and secure records in the CRM system.
  • Support the collection and organisation of member feedback and insights to inform WWDA’s work.
  • Support delivery of forums, consultations, workshops and advisory mechanisms.
  • Support inclusive and accessible engagement practices across member activities.
  • Moderate and support online member platforms and communities.
  • Collaborate across WWDA teams to support engagement and organisational priorities.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Disability Studies, Human Rights, Gender Studies, Social Sciences, Community Development or related fields and/or relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, membership administration or relationship management, ideally in a for-purpose or member-led organisation.
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience engaging effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, databases and digital tools (eg. Microsoft 365, Salesforce, Zoom, Teams).
  • Understanding of accessibility measures and inclusive practices for people with disability in engagement and event settings.
  • Experience supporting the planning and delivery of forums, workshops, consultations or similar engagement activities.
  • Understanding of, or willingness to learn, trauma-informed approaches and the creation of safe, respectful engagement spaces.
  • Capacity to work independently in a remote environment while contributing to a collaborative team culture.

Other Requirements

The successful candidate must obtain and maintain a Working with Vulnerable Persons check and a National Police check, and they may undergo a Job Access assessment (Employee Assistance Fund) in line with WWDA’s Working from Home Policy and OHS obligation.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

Remuneration: This position is aligned with Level 3 of the SCHADS Award. Salary will be commensurate with relevant experience and aligned with the budget for this position. Salary packaging is also available.
