Church Relationship Specialist - Adelaide / Perth

World Vision Australia is seeking a relationship focused and results driven Church Engagement Specialist to build and grow partnerships with churches across Western Australia and South Australia.

In this role, you will build and strengthen relationships with churches and Christian communities across Australia, helping connect them with World Vision’s work to support vulnerable children and communities worldwide. You will engage pastors, ministry leaders and church networks, identifying opportunities for partnership through initiatives such as child sponsorship, community development programs, youth engagement campaigns, emergency appeals and prayer-based activities. Through these relationships, you will help grow support for World Vision’s mission and create meaningful opportunities for churches to make a lasting impact.

This is a highly relational role for someone who understands the Australian church landscape and is passionate about helping build the local church and create lasting impact for vulnerable children and communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a portfolio of church partnerships across WA and SA.
  • Develop strong relationships with pastors, church leaders and key decision-makers.
  • Conduct regular face-to-face meetings and engagement activities with church partners and prospects.
  • Identify and pursue new partnership opportunities.
  • Develop engagement strategies that grow participation, generosity and long-term partnership.
  • Represent World Vision Australia at church services, conferences, events and networking opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver exceptional partner experiences.
  • Monitor and report on partnership activity and outcomes.

Due to travel, church services, conferences and events, some work outside standard business hours will be required.

About You

You are a self-motivated relationship builder with a strong understanding of the Australian church landscape and a passion for seeing churches create lasting impact.

You will bring:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in fundraising, sales, business development or partnership management.
  • Experience working in/with churches, Christian organisations and networks.
  • Formal Bible College or theological studies (preferred).
  • Demonstrated success in developing and growing strategic partnerships.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, networking and influencing skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to engage and inspire audiences through preaching, public speaking, presentations and group facilitation.
  • High emotional intelligence and relationship management capability.
  • Experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce or Dynamics 365 (desirable).
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence.
