Love great coffee, friendly faces and daytime café work? We’re looking for a warm, reliable and hands-on Café All-Rounder / Barista to join World Vision Australia’s Blackburn-based social enterprise café – Little Things Café - on a casual basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to bring your café skills to a welcoming community space where your workday contributes to something bigger.

You’ll help create a positive café experience for customers while supporting an organisation committed to empowering Australians to create meaningful change for the world’s most vulnerable children and adults.

About the role

This is a casual position with shifts across 2–3 weekdays and some Saturdays, typically finishing around 3pm after close and pack-down. Shifts are approx. 5–6 hours in duration. Flexibility is required to support additional shifts and changes to hours or days as needed. There may also be opportunities for occasional shifts at our Burwood East social enterprise café.

Based in Blackburn and close to public transport, you’ll be part of a small, supportive team and assist across both front-of-house and basic kitchen duties throughout the day.

What you’ll do

• Prepare and serve quality coffee and café beverages
• Deliver warm, attentive customer service, including table service
• Use the POS system to take orders and process payments
• Assist with food preparation, including sandwiches and simple kitchen tasks
• Support kitchen operations including dishwashing, cleaning and restocking
• Help with end-of-day closing, pack-down and maintaining a clean, organised café

About you

• Barista experience or strong coffee knowledge
• Confident in customer service and creating a welcoming environment
• Reliable, organised and comfortable in a fast-paced setting
• Willing to be hands-on across coffee making, service, food prep and cleaning
• Basic food safety or food handling experience
• Positive attitude and enjoys working as part of a team
