About your new role

You will be part of the Western Senior Leadership Team, which has both a strategic and operational focus and plays an active role in achieving Uniting’s Strategic Objectives. You will deliver high performance, and optimum consumer and community outcomes for your portfolio.

You will lead a workforce of employees and volunteers using a trauma-informed approach to deliver responsive and high-quality services to children and young people in our Residential Care, Foster Care, and Kinship Care programs across Western Victoria.

Your leadership will ensure we deliver vibrant and innovative programs that truly support the needs of children, young people, and families with complex needs. You will also play a key role in developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships and ensuring accountability with statutory requirements.

Skills and experience

You have a track record of effective leadership, where your emotional intelligence, high energy, and optimism have enabled you to foster high-performing and motivated teams.

You will also bring with you:

  • Bachelor level in a relevant professional discipline such as social work, psychology or social science
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the child, youth, and families sector including relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Evidence of an outcome focus with high-level skills in program quality, cultural safety compliance, financial performance, and budget management.
  • Significant experience in developing and leading large and complex programs and services.
  • Knowledge and understanding of trauma-informed practice.
