  • Lead a substantial portfolio of programs across northern & western Victoria.
  • Use your entrepreneurial mindset to grow service delivery where it's most needed.
  • Purchased leave options + WFH flex + access to $15,900 salary packaging benefits.

Your new role

As a direct report of the CEO and a member of the Uniting Senior Leadership Group, you will lead the delivery of a substantial portfolio of services and programs supporting consumers and communities across metropolitan and rural Victoria. This pivotal role encompasses the North and West catchment areas of Victoria and has a significant budget of ~$70m.

In joining the team, you’ll take a phased approach to your success. Firstly, you’ll put time into understanding your current portfolio’s performance in line with contractual agreements, consumer outcomes, and strategic direction. Once you’re across this, you will grow the portfolio through conventional and innovative means to resource community service delivery where it’s most needed.

About the team

With four direct reports and an overall workforce of 428 FTE, you will lead the direction of services and programs that improve the lives of Victoria's most vulnerable people. Our services include metro areas in Melbourne and reach to Albury-Wodonga in the north and the Wimmera region in the west.

Ensuring positive consumer impact, our programs include Family Services, Family Violence, Out of Home Care, Youth Services, Social and Financial Support, Settlement & Asylum Seeker Services, Disability Services, Alcohol & Other Drug Services, Mental Health Services, Housing, and Homelessness Support.

What’s on offer

We offer flexible work-from-home options. We focus on outputs and deliverables and are set up to work remotely (laptop, phone) or from any Uniting office location.

You will have the opportunity to join a Senior Leadership Team that values collaboration and support. Face-to-face meetings for this group occur every other Tuesday at our Head Office located on Lonsdale Street.

You will work with an organisation that delivers services to Australia’s most vulnerable. At Uniting, we use our connections, our size, our scale, and our knowledge to advocate and push into places where we feel like we should be doing more.

In addition to the TRP and the ability to increase your take-home pay by accessing up to $15,900 in salary packaging benefits, there is also the option to increase your annual leave entitlements through our purchase leave program. We also offer a 10% staff discount on the childcare subsidy gap fee when using a Uniting Early Learning service or centre and access to 10 weeks paid parental leave.

About you

Being a bold and imaginative leader with an entrepreneurial mindset, you are at your best when advocating for social policy and system changes. You are adept at building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders including Governments, community leaders, peak bodies, service partners, and consumers.

You have built a career leading a range of programs in a large, complex community service or you might be currently CEO of a smaller organisation and ready for your next move to one of the largest community service providers in Victoria.

You will have significant leadership capability and a proven track record in inspiring and supporting an engaged and productive workforce. You will also bring with you a bachelor's degree in human/community services and significant competency in financial and risk management.
