Your new role

The Financial Counsellor supports individuals experiencing financial hardship by providing counselling, advocacy, information, and practical assistance to help them make informed financial decisions and improve their financial wellbeing. The role also supports financial capability initiatives, delivers tailored financial literacy and money management support to clients from diverse backgrounds, and works collaboratively with carers, care recipients, families, and community services to strengthen referral pathways and access to support.

Your skills and experience

  • Diploma of Financial Counselling and FCA Victoria accreditation (or working towards accreditation).
  • Experience providing financial counselling, case management, advocacy, and client support.
  • Strong communication, engagement, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse and vulnerable clients, including those with complex needs.
  • Experience developing referral networks and working collaboratively with community services.
  • Strong organisational, administrative, and computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Current Victorian Driver Licence.
