WHOS (We Help Ourselves) is one of the largest alcohol and other drug (AOD) non-government treatment providers in Australia offering a range of evidence-based therapeutic programs. WHOS has services based in NSW and Queensland.

The advertised position, based in Cessnock, will provide services for individuals who are experiencing difficulties with Alcohol and other Drug dependence, and other co-occurring conditions, within the context of a mixed-gender residential therapeutic community setting.

APPLICANTS MUST RESPOND TO THE SELECTION CRITERIA BELOW:

Essential Criteria:

1. Qualification n AOD / Mental Health / Community Services or related field
2. Experience working with, clients that have AOD use disorders and associated issues
3. Knowledge of AOD treatment sector
4. Group work skills
5. Knowledge and understanding of harm minimisation strategies
6. Current First Aid Certificate
7. Current driver’s licence
8. Computer literacy, including the use of electronic client information systems
9. Commitment to working as part of a team
10. Ability to work evening and weekend shifts
11. Current Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate (WHOS adheres to the NSW Public Health Order 2021 for COVID-19 Vaccinations).

Desirable Criteria:

• Understanding of the Therapeutic Community model

Remuneration:

Remuneration is in accordance with the SCHADSI Award – Level 4
