The Role

The Youth Development Officer (Arts Portfolio) will work as a member of Council’s Youth Services Team. They will be responsible for leading youth work in a designated local area and as the key driver of the Arts Portfolio. The Arts Portfolio will have specific emphases on developing strategic and programmatic responses that support the engagement of young people in arts and cultural initiatives.

About you

You will have:

• Tertiary qualifications suitable for working in the Youth Work field and demonstrated specific experience in working with young people
• The ability to drive the art portfolio at a strategic level through development of partnerships and collaboration with other service providers.
• An understanding of the contemporary context and experiences of young people
• Highly developed programmatic skills and the ability to target specific audiences
• A commitment to LGBTIQ+ inclusive practice
