Women’s Health East is a women’s health promotion agency based in Doncaster East that works across Melbourne’s eastern region. Women’s Health East’s vision is equality, empowerment, health and wellbeing for all women. Our strategic priorities are to advance gender equality, prevent violence against women and improve women’s sexual and reproductive health.

Board of Governance vacancy

Women’s Health East has a vacancy on its Board of Governance. This vacancy is available immediately. The successful candidate would be appointed for the term up until the next Annual General Meeting in November 2024 at which time the incumbent would need to be elected by Women’s Health East’s membership.

To be eligible to apply for Women’s Health East’s Board of Governance you must:

• Identify as a woman
• Be over the age of 18 years
• Live, work or study in Melbourne's eastern region, which includes the local government areas of the Yarra Ranges, Knox, Maroondah, Manningham, Monash, Whitehorse and Boroondara.
• Be a member of Women's Health East. Membership is free and you can join here

Women’s Health East seeks a woman who is highly committed to the vision and priorities of the organisation and is well connected within the community. We seek a woman with previous governance experience, preferably in a not-for-profit organisation, and who ideally has completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors course.

We seek an applicant with qualifications, skills and experience in:

• Financial management and accounting (highly desirable)
• Political and government experience and connections (highly desirable)
• Revenue generation, with connections and experience in business and/or philanthropy (desirable)
• Proficiency in strategic communications, media and marketing (desirable).

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, women with disability, women from culturally diverse backgrounds, and LGBTIQ women including trans and gender diverse people who identify as women are strongly encouraged to apply.
