We manage over 1,200 properties and support more than 2,200 women and children each year through housing and specialist homelessness services.

About the Role

The People and Culture Coordinator provides operational HR support to managers and employees, ensuring consistent, compliant and people-centred practices across the employee lifecycle.

This position contributes to a positive, inclusive and psychologically safe workplace by supporting recruitment, onboarding, performance processes, employee relations administration, and P&C systems and records.

This role also co-ordinates training, employee wellbeing and engagement initiatives, and co-ordinates the WHC Psychosocial Safety and WHC plans and supports management to monitor compliance. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Coordinate end-to-end employee lifecycle processes, ensuring accurate administration, compliance, and a positive employee experience from recruitment through to offboarding.
  • Support the delivery of WHC's performance and development framework, learning initiatives, and compliance with development requirements.
  • Provide operational HR advice and administrative support on employee relations matters, ensuring consistent application of policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
  • Coordinate WHC's wellbeing, engagement, and WHS initiatives to foster a safe, healthy, and engaged workplace culture.
  • Support organisational compliance by maintaining HR systems, records, policies, reporting, and adherence to employment, industrial, and WHS legislation. 

Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management, Commerce, Psychology, or related field
  • 2+ years' experience in HR Operations/administration
  • Strong passion and/or experience in purpose-driven/not-for-profit organisations is highly desirable
  • Basic understanding of Australian employment relations
  • Mandatory National Police Check
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Full, unrestricted Australian working rights.
