About Women for Election

Women For Election (WFE) is a non-partisan, for purpose organisation that is committed to helping inspire and equip women and non-binary folk, from all backgrounds and lived experience, to run for public office in Australia at the local, state and federal level.

WFE strives to achieve gender parity in Australia’s legislative chambers so that governments are representative of the communities they govern. WFE’s programs help women see how they can get involved in the political process, be it to run or to help another woman’s campaign whilst also increasing active citizenry.

Our Vision, Mission, and Values

WFE’s vision is to achieve a balanced and fair society achieved through gender parity in Australian politics across all tiers of government.

The mission of WFE is to inspire, equip and sustain women to successfully stand for, and thrive in, public office in Australia. WFE upholds these values:

  • Non-partisan
  • Collaborative
  • Respectful
  • Inclusive

About the Role

WFE has been awarded a Federal Grant to support the identification and equipping of women and diverse candidates from politically under-represented communities to run for public office in Australia. Supported by a consortium of 4 other organisations and a Design Council, the “Women in Public Office'' grant will expand WFE’s current reach by leveraging face to face and online training programs and delivering an innovative “Campaign in Your Pocket'’ technology resource.

In order to provide face to face and online training workshops across the country, WFE is assembling a team of exceptional, non-partisan Trainers to deliver our candidate training workshop across all states and territories, including in regional Australia. These trainers will be based across the country.

Whatever your background, educational attainment or ability, or location; if you’ve formerly run for public office, and would like to equip other women to get elected … we want you!
