Join our esteemed team at WASH House in the pivotal role of Caseworker within the Staying Home Leaving Violence (SHLV) program. The SHLV program operates on a robust casework model designed to provide essential support to women and their children navigating the complexities of Domestic and Family Violence.
As a Caseworker, you'll be instrumental in facilitating responses that ensure the safety and well-being of those affected. You'll provide services that include tailored support, case management, and group work activities, working closely with clients to assess safety needs and improve social, health, economic, and legal outcomes for families.
This is a full-time role (35 hours per week, Monday to Friday). The work hours are either from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm or 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.
The role is based in Mt Druitt but covers the entire Blacktown Local Government Area (LGA), therefore travel is necessary to fulfil job duties.
At WASH House, we stand as a cornerstone resource centre for women within the Blacktown LGA, proudly serving our community for over 35 years. Our unwavering mission is to diminish the effects of poverty, social inequality, and violence, empowering the lives of women.
Services provided include information and referral, case support and case management, skill building and therapeutic groups, advocacy and various community development activities.
Join us in our journey toward effecting real change in the community. Your role within our organisation will have a lasting impact on the lives of those we serve.
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate woman with extensive experience in case management, particularly in providing support to women and children facing crises with complex needs. The ideal candidate will possess a proven ability to offer empathetic and effective assistance in challenging situations.
The WASH House considers being a woman a genuine occupational qualification for this position under s.31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
Please note, this workplace has committed to keeping staff and vulnerable clients safe. A mandatory COVID vaccination policy for all employees is in place.
We encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, as well as women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Successful applicants must provide proof of a current NSW Working with Children Check clearance and undergo a Police Check.
For inquiries about the role and an information package, please contact Bobby-Lee on (02) 9677 1962.
