Wamba Wemba Aboriginal Corporation (WWAC) is seeking an exceptional leader to guide our organisation through an exciting period of growth, cultural authority and strategic development. As the newly appointed Registered Aboriginal Party (RAP) for Wamba Wemba Country, WWAC holds statutory responsibilities under the Victorian Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006 and plays a vital role in protecting cultural heritage, strengthening community wellbeing, and advancing self‑determination for Wamba Wemba and Wemba Wemba Peoples.

About the Role
The Chief Executive Officer will work closely with the Board, Elders and community to:
- Lead WWAC’s strategic direction, organisational development and cultural governance.
- Strengthen internal capability and build a culturally strong, safe and high‑performing workplace.
- Manage statutory responsibilities as a RAP, including cultural heritage, land management and stakeholder engagement.
- Represent WWAC with integrity across government, industry, community and partner organisations.
- Champion cultural authority and ensure decisions reflect Wamba Wemba values, knowledge and aspirations.
- Position WWAC to engage meaningfully in Victoria’s Treaty process and long‑term First Nations governance arrangements.
- Drive opportunities for economic development, enterprise growth and community benefit.
This role requires a transformational leader who can navigate complexity, build trust, and deliver meaningful outcomes for Country and community.
About You
We are seeking a culturally grounded, values‑aligned leader with:
- Senior or executive leadership experience, ideally within Aboriginal governance, cultural heritage, land management or community‑centred organisations.
- Deep cultural understanding and the ability to work respectfully with Traditional Owners.
- Strong strategic capability, organisational development experience and stakeholder influence.
- A commitment to cultural integrity, community priorities and strengthening Wamba Wemba self‑determination.
- Proven experience building high‑trust relationships across government, corporate and community sectors.
- Expertise in financial sustainability, enterprise development and organisational growth.
- The ability to lead with integrity, clarity and cultural authority.
