Due to the Institute’s recent growth in our Operations Team, we are looking for a People & Culture professional who brings a depth of experience from a broad People & Culture operations role. Your experience encompasses the full employment lifecycle, including learning and development as well as experience advising on Australian employment law and expertise in HR system administration.
Beyond technical skills, we are seeking someone with a supportive and collaborative approach and excellent interpersonal abilities who will work as a trusted advisor and mentor to their direct reports and colleagues at all levels.
The People & Culture (P&C) Manager is responsible for the operational aspect of the Institute’s People & Culture function. They will be overseeing the end-to-end employee life cycle processes, including onboarding, offboarding, talent management, performance management, and employee relations.
They will collaborate with key stakeholders, and mentor and develop the P&C Advisor and Talent Acquisition Partner, to ensure seamless operations and compliance. Additionally, they will manage our learning and development platform and utilise HR metrics for continuous improvement.

The Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute (the Institute) is dedicated to finding cures for cardiovascular disease and is one of the most respected heart research facilities in the world. Renowned for the quality of its breakthroughs, the Institute was established in 1994 and has grown to a team of more than 200 researchers from around the globe, working across five divisions.
A global centre-of-excellence, it integrates Cardiac Physiology and Transplantation, Developmental and Stem Cell Biology, Molecular Cardiology and Biophysics, Structural and Computational Biology, as well as Vascular Biology. At the Institute, we translate our discoveries into new diagnostics, prevention, and treatment of cardiovascular disease - reducing the incidence, severity, and impact of heart disease.
The Institute is located on the St Vincent’s Sydney Health Innovation Precinct (SVSHIP) in Darlinghurst and the Precinct partners include St Vincent’s Centre for Applied Medical Research (AMR) and Garvan Institute of Medical Research (Garvan).
