Looking to build a career in Human Resources?
Whether you're a recent HR graduate, an experienced administrator ready for the next step, or an Executive Assistant wanting to transition into HR, this is an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience across the full employee lifecycle while making a meaningful difference in the community.
Join the Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service (VALS) and work alongside an experienced and supportive HR team that is committed to developing the next generation of HR professionals.
This role offers exposure to recruitment, onboarding, employee relations administration, learning and development, compliance, HR systems, reporting, and employee engagement initiatives. You'll gain practical experience across a broad range of HR functions while developing skills that will support long-term career growth.
At VALS, our people are driven by purpose. Every role contributes to improving outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities across Victoria.
In addition to meaningful work, we offer:
The Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service (VALS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation and the state's only dedicated legal and support service for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Established in 1973, VALS provides culturally safe legal advice and representation across criminal, family, civil and human rights law, youth justice, and specialist litigation. We also deliver a range of support programs including family violence services, transitional housing, community legal education, and our 24/7 Custody Notification Service.
You will provide administrative and coordination support across all areas of Human Resources.
This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You'll be involved in recruitment activities, onboarding new employees, maintaining employee records, coordinating training, supporting compliance requirements, assisting with HR reporting, and contributing to employee engagement initiatives.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys organisation, administration, working with people, and building a career in Human Resources.
