The Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA) is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation that supports and advocates for the Aboriginal Community and is the largest organisation of it’s kind in Australia. About the role

The Records, Reparations and Administration Officer’s key role will include meeting the administrative needs of Link-Up Victoria, assisting with Intake and assisting the Stolen Generations to apply for Reparations under the Victorian or NT schemes.

About You

  • Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose and the capacity to take a leadership role in championing these internally and externally
  • Demonstrated awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, and commitment to continually build knowledge of such, along with a high level of awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture
  • Ability to learn how to communicate in a clear and respectful way with a range of stakeholders including clients, staff from other organisations and services, Government and agency partners
  • Ability to develop writing and other communication skills
  • Ability to learn administrative and organisational skills
  • Good computer skills, including a working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook and an ability to enter data into client information systems
  • Capacity to work both independently and as a member of a team
  • Willingness to actively participate in training and supervision
  • Current COVID-19 vaccinations (minimum two doses and booster shot before commencement)
