We would like, as soon as possible after Covid19 restrictions are lifted in remote Aboriginal communities to have acquired the services of the right applicant. This is the second round of advertising for this position.
Urapuntja Aboriginal Corporation (UAC) requires a highly motivated and creative Homelands Human Services Coordinator (HHSC) to take a facilitating partnership (FP) role in the Utopia Homelands in orchestrating programs, activities and/or services to make our Homelands stronger for our Children. We want you to walk alongside the Homelands people in the enabling of their innovative and practical program ideas to improve the lives of family and cultural units.
You will navigate, measure, sustain and account for multiple grant sources while being guided by the Homelands people in facilitating their solutions to their complex needs. You will advocate, inform and educate people to provide well-being, self-autonomy, independence and self-determination. You will mentor, organise and create real vocational and educational services and opportunities, working closely with UAC and other service providers and agencies.
You will maintain a caseload to assist individuals and families who are severely disadvantaged by welfare dependency and disabilities, in a crippling environment of poor shelter, food insecurity, financial debt, social dysfunction and other effects caused by the complex effects of intergenerational trauma.
You will also facilitate, organise and roster educational and social programs, and accommodation services based from the Urapuntja Homelands Centre (UHC) situated in the Arlparra Homeland, and provide outreach services to up to 16 Utopia Homelands.
You will create opportunities for possible employment for Utopia people and be guided by a Local Community Board (LCB) who you will facilitate, and assist with their governance responsibilities.
You will become part of a larger program throughout the NT and from time to time engage in webinar’s, travel and join other SCFC Coordinators, with selected community members to represent UAC in the learning, promoting and sharing of ideas that will enhance the program and the lives of children and their families throughout the NT.

Compelling research and evidence exist around the importance of investing in children from the earliest possible stages of life, and that a collaborative and integrated approach to the provision of programs and services for infants, children and families will result in positive long-term benefits. (Collective Impact Theory). There is a need to close the gap in the health, wellbeing, and learning outcomes for young children and families in vulnerable communities to ensure children have the pre-requisites to be successful prior to and from entering education systems.
The CHSC Co-Ordinator will be immediately responsible for the delivery and coordinating of the SCFC Program and other initiatives wanted and initiated by the LCB, and the Board of UAC.

Performance Reviews will be undertaken regularly and the Probation Period is as per the current Australian Government Legislation (6 months).
