Our client SAGE Community Services is seeking an experienced and organised professional to join a new Families Together team and contribute to the support of high-quality, client-centred service delivery across Western Sydney.

About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join SAGE Community Services' new Families Together team in a pivotal child protection support role. Reporting to the Team Leader, you'll work alongside Caseworkers to help deliver high-quality outcomes for vulnerable children, young people and families through efficient coordination, administration and casework support.

The role is responsible for supporting referral intake, maintaining accurate case records, coordinating appointments and referrals, and preparing documentation and reports to ensure services are delivered efficiently and in accordance with organisational and Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) requirements. You'll play an important role behind the scenes, enabling Caseworkers to focus on achieving the best possible outcomes for children and families.

  • Full Time 35 hours per week
  • SCHADS Award Level 4 (dependant on experience)
  • Based in Wentworthville, however regular travel for home visits required and for other work across the district as needed

What you’ll need to succeed

This role will suit an experienced community services professional with strong communication, problem-solving and case management skills. The successful candidate will bring a genuine commitment to trauma-informed, culturally safe and inclusive practice, along with a passion for supporting children, young people and families to thrive.

Selection Criteria

  • Diploma qualification in Community Services, Welfare, or related human services field
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working with children, young people, and families impacted by trauma, domestic and family violence, child protection concerns, mental health challenges, substance misuse, and social disadvantage or relevant administration role
  • Proven experience in a high-volume administrative role, with well-developed skills in data collection, data integrity, and reporting (this includes advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and client management, or database systems)
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately record, maintain, and report sensitive information in line with organisational and statutory requirements
  • A genuine willingness to work (and continue to learn) in child protection, risk assessment and safety planning, and what it means to keep children safe
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a culturally safe and responsive way, including with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CALD and LGBTQIA+ families
  • Sound knowledge (or willingness to learn) child protection legislation, mandatory reporting obligations and information-sharing requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to build genuine, trust-based relationships with families and colleagues
  • Superior organisational skills and the ability to manage administrative tasks, meet deadlines and maintain accurate records
  • Competence in using online case management systems and data reporting tools
  • Ability to work both independently and as an effective team member
  • A genuine commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality and ongoing professional development
  • Current NSW or National Driver’s Licence
  • Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Criminal record history check (this is a child-related position)
  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency
