In this role as a Volunteer Business Mentor or Project Mentor you will support change-makers who are previous and/or current public housing residents who are looking for new opportunities and/or pathways into self employment. You'll help them to get started on business or social enterprise or an idea for a community project based on their lived experiences of gaps in products and services that their community need.
Use your skills and experience to make a difference in the lives of these people and who are looking to lead change in their community through community projects and through businesses. As part of this program you’ll learn and apply valuable mentoring and leadership skills to support and develop your own career as well.
Over 3 months of mentoring, you will be help participants through different stages of planning and setting up a business or a community project. Some examples of areas where you will be providing active guidance around are:

The Thriving Opportunity for Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Action and Projects (TO-LEAP) program empowers residents in North Melbourne and Flemington to lead change in their community using the power of local leadership, enterprise and action. It is a fully subsidised program funded by the Department of Family Fairness and Housing aimed at encouraging people to build enterprise skills and to make a difference in their community.
