The Salvation Army Youth Services offer an integrated suite of programs engaging with young people across Australia. Our services create intentional avenues for young people to explore opportunities, build support networks, and access, participate and contribute to their communities. Youth services provide a diverse range of programs which include housing and homelessness, driver training, education, employment and training, AOD support, social and community activities, specialist therapeutic responses and youth justice programs.

THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a values-driven and experienced Youth Services Specialist to provide specialist knowledge and expertise in Youth Services practice to support service delivery across Australia. Responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of national frameworks and service delivery models
  • Develop processes or procedures that facilitate consistent quality practice service delivery
  • Develop materials or collateral that supports practice
  • Build quality and evidence
  • Coordinate communities of practice

This position is a member of the Youth Services stream leadership team and will contribute to national plans frameworks and practice to ensure innovative and client centred service delivery to meet current and future needs.

Reporting to the National General Manager - Youth Services the location of this position within Australia is flexible.

HOURS

This is a permanent full-time position, 38 hours per week.

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE:

  • Degree qualification in social work, social science, community development or related field
  • Post graduate qualification would be highly regarded
  • Experience in managing youth services
  • Experience in active engagement in community or government bodies within the youth sector
  • Experience writing tenders and submissions
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Be able to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
