The Salvation Army is one of Australia's largest providers of spiritual and social services throughout Australia. Each of our services across Australia offer programs for people who may be experiencing homelessness, alcohol or drug problems, family and domestic violence, youth issues or require community support services.

THE ROLE

The National Social Mission Department are currently seeking a values-driven Service Manager and Northern Territory Coordinator to lead the delivery of all social programs and community services, including management of all services and contracts for services within and across the Territory. Other key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure all Territory social matters are coordinated and communicated to the Head of Social Mission and Divisional Leader South Australia,
  • Being a member of the Social Mission & Community Engagement Departments leadership teams whereby providing input, insight and context, in the development of strategic initiatives of the Departments
  • Provides a coordinating response and will be the conduit for government relations and building and maintaining relationships with Branch heads in Territory government departments and equivalent stakeholders
  • Provides coordination of all social programs and community service mission expressions across Northern Territory

This position is located in Darwin, however regional and interstate travel will be required. Location outside of Darwin (but within NT) may be negotiated.

HOURS AND SALARY

This is a full-time position, 38 hours per week ongoing.
Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, Social Stream, Level 8 plus an over award component.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Degree qualification in social work, welfare, community development or related field and at least 10 years relevant experience, including managerial experience
  • Experience in active membership in community or government bodies within the homelessness sector
  • Senior management experience in social and community services programs including homelessness
  • A current NT Drivers Licence is essential
  • Be able to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
