Reporting to Chief Financial Officer, the General Manager, Shared Services will provide strategic leadership and oversight of the Shared Services Group within Finance and to transform the current processes into efficient integrated processes and functions.

The key focus of the role will be to:

  • Actively participate in the National Finance Management Leadership Team ensuring key deliverables are achieved in line with strategic outcomes
  • Provide effective leadership to the group through coaching and mentoring, to build and grow operational capability
  • Ensure effective systems and processes are established for managing shared financial services across The Salvation Army including evaluation of potential new systems implementation and efficiency opportunities.
  • Establish performance and reporting measures across Financial Shared Services to effectively track The Salvation Army performance in line with key financial indicators
  • Oversee the establishment of approaches, templates, training and support for managing the operational requirements of the Shared Services model across The Salvation Army
  • Work collaboratively with managers to determine priorities and develop integrated solutions that deliver key outcomes
  • Engage with key stakeholders to ensure understanding of the strategic support the Governance and Risk department provides and the benefits of the department to The Salvation Army
  • Drive individual and team performance to achieve key deliverables, manage performance gaps, reward success and actively resolve individual and team performance issues
  • Lead and drive change, provide clear direction around performance goals and provide regular feedback on performance outcomes, and initiate corrective action as appropriate

To be successful in this role, you ideally have a post-graduate qualification and will have demonstrated experience working in a similar role within a multi-faceted organisation with diverse operations and programs.

Key capabilities include:

  • Several years of experience in leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams within relevant field
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge across a number of functional areas within relevant field
  • Proven experience in engaging with and managing the expectations of stakeholder groups at all levels
  • Proven experience in delivering transformational change and developing centralised shared services for all transactional accounting processes
