We are seeking a Public Officer to support the Board in maintaining strong governance practices, organisational records and regulatory compliance obligations as the charity continues to grow.
This is an important Board position that helps ensure the organisation remains accountable, organised and compliant with its reporting obligations.
Purpose of the Role
The Public Officer acts as the official point of contact for regulatory and governance matters and supports the Board in maintaining accurate records, governance documentation and organisational compliance requirements.
This role works collaboratively with the Board and provides administrative and governance support to help ensure the organisation operates effectively and meets its obligations.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory & Compliance Support
- Act as the designated Public Officer for the organisation.
- Receive and manage official correspondence from relevant regulatory bodies.
- Assist in ensuring required reporting obligations are completed and submitted on time.
- Support the Board in maintaining accurate organisational records.
Governance Administration
- Maintain current records of Directors and Board appointments.
- Ensure key organisational information remains accurate and up to date.
- Support the preparation and maintenance of governance documentation.
- Assist with maintaining governance and compliance records.
Board Support
- Attend Board meetings quarterly and management meetings as required.
- Assist with the recording and storage of Board meeting minutes and resolutions.
- Maintain an organised repository of Board documentation.
- Support communication between the Board and relevant external stakeholders where required.
Records Management
Maintain and safeguard key organisational records, including:
- Constitution and governing documents
- Board meeting minutes
- Board resolutions
- Governance policies and procedures
- Regulatory correspondence
- Compliance and reporting records
Preferred Skills & Experience
