Our current domestic violence, homelessness and AOD health treatment programs range across a variety of settings, such as crisis support, transitional or head tenancy accommodation, day programs, counselling and outreach support.
This allows us to provide holistic wrap-around, trauma-informed care within an integrated service system. We deliver these complex services within a human rights and gender sensitive framework, with advocacy at the forefront.
All services are based on a theoretical model of recovery, respect and empowerment. This includes encouraging self-help to our clients and assisting in minimizing the effects of institutional discrimination or disadvantages, and its associated harm.
Toora Women Inc provides safe affordable accommodation and supportive services for women with complex needs, with or without their families. The Tenancy and Property Coordinator provides day-to-day property management and service coordination for Toora residents and is responsible to ensure that all assigned properties are operated in an efficient, cost effective manner while providing high quality, well maintained housing to residents.
Property Management
Maximise rental income by maintaining high occupancy rates and minimising vacancy loss, bad debt, and rental concessions inclusive of daily arrears management and bond management.
Preparation and regular review of Occupancy Agreements including proficient use of Centrelink's CPAY services
Conduct quarterly inspections with a high level of detail
Conduct rent reviews bi-annually
Liaise with Housing ACT and other stakeholders on property-related issues as required.
Ensure the service aligns with organisational policies, with a strong emphasis on professional boundaries and minimising risks of vicarious trauma.
Deliver tenancy services in accordance with community housing best practice, and in alignment with Toora’s model of care and approved intervention methods.
