The Work they do

Their teams of consultants and auditors produce analysis around greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, energy productivity, ESG, Net Zero, Science-based Targets (SBTs), sustainability, climate risk and carbon management planning scenarios as well as delivering educational programs. The Role

The role of Senior Carbon and Energy Consultant will take a leading role assisting clients with carbon and energy accounting and management, strategy development and compliance with relevant standards and protocols.

Given the technical expertise of this position the successful candidate will also be requested to attend presales meetings as a subject matter expert as well as be called on to provide advice and support to other members of the Pangolin team.

This role will also provide mentoring and technical guidance to a small team of early career consultants to ensure their work meets quality standards as well as ensuring that the team are sufficiently resourced, and projects are being efficiently delivered.

Essential skills, background, and capabilities:

  • Bachelor level degree or higher in an appropriate discipline – preferably in engineering or the natural sciences
  • Preferably experience in the climate solutions field
  • Experience in carbon accounting principles and protocols
  • Strong background in quantitative analytics
  • Ability to apply relevant methodologies
  • Experience in people leadership and providing technical mentoring
  • Flexible, adaptable and a passion for working in this expanding sector
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with Apple operating systems
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication and presentation skills including the ability to build a rapport with a diverse range of external stakeholders

Additional information:

  • The position is based in Pangolin’s Sydney CBD office within easy walking distance of Wynyard and Town Hall Stations. They also offer flexible working arrangements to allow for working from home.
  • The successful candidate will enjoy a role with exposure to diverse range of clients and sustainability engagements.
  • Some travel from time to time may be required such as interstate and regional Australia.
  • A competitive salary package will be negotiated based on experience, with opportunities for career progression.
