About the role

We are seeking a Health Promotion Officer to join our South Australian team. This role will contribute to the design, delivery, and evaluation of health promotion strategies that support LGBTIQ+ communities, gay and bisexual men, men who have sex with men, and people living with, at risk of, or affected by HIV.

Working in a part-time capacity, this role will:

  • Develop, deliver, and evaluate health promotion projects, events, workshops, and campaigns.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community groups, volunteers, and partner organisations.
  • Support innovative and culturally relevant strategies that engage priority populations.
  • Collect and report on evaluation data to ensure continuous program improvement.
  • Contribute to the collaborative work of the Health Promotion team.

What’s on offer

In addition to your salary of SCHADS Level 3 (pro-rata) plus superannuation, Thorne Harbour also pays above award. You’ll also receive 17.5% leave loading and an ability to increase your take-home pay by accessing up to $15,900 in salary packaging benefits.

About you

You will have a tertiary qualification/s in a relevant field or significant experience working with priority populations. You will also bring:

  • An understanding of LGBTIQ+ and HIV-affected communities, their networks, and the issues impacting them.
  • Experience in planning, delivering, and evaluating events, campaigns, or community activities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team and with stakeholders.
  • A willingness to work flexibly, including some evenings and weekends.

A South Australian driver’s licence is essential and previous experience working directly with LGBTIQ+ and/or HIV-positive communities will be highly regarded.
