Zoe Belle Collective is a leading Australian trans and gender diverse-led organisation working in prevention of gender-based violence.

We're seeking an experienced and passionate Family Violence Prevention & Response Lead to provide strategic leadership across our partnerships in the family violence sector. Working closely with Safe and Equal, you'll help transform policy, practice and systems to ensure family violence prevention and response services are inclusive, affirming and accessible for trans and gender diverse people.

About the role

This is a unique opportunity to shape best practice across Victoria's family violence sector through advocacy, partnership development, project leadership and capacity building. Reporting to the Director of Zoe Belle Gender Collective, you will:

  • Lead ZBGC's strategic partnership with Safe and Equal.
  • Design, deliver and evaluate initiatives that strengthen trans and gender diverse inclusion across family violence prevention and response systems.
  • Develop sector resources, practice guidance and capacity-building initiatives.
  • Provide specialist advice to government, peak bodies and community organisations.
  • Lead policy development, submissions and advocacy that influence systemic reform.
  • Manage prevention campaigns, including the internationally recognised Transfemme campaign.

About You

You are an experienced leader with a strong understanding of family violence prevention and response and a commitment to advancing equity for trans and gender diverse communities.

You will also bring:

  • Qualifications in Social Work, Community Development, Human Services, Community Services or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Demonstrated understanding of family and gender-based violence impacting trans and gender diverse communities.
  • Experience influencing policy, practice or organisational change.
  • Strong knowledge of primary prevention, early intervention and/or family violence response frameworks.
  • Understanding of gender-transformative and intersectional feminist practice.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.

Highly regarded for this role is lived experience as a trans or gender diverse person, along with experience working alongside trans and gender diverse communities within family violence prevention or response settings.

Zoe Belle Gender Collective (ZBGC) is a trans and gender diverse (TGD)-led not-for-profit organisation founded in 2007 in honour of transgender activist Zoe Belle. ZBGC works to create a society where trans and gender diverse people are valued, respected, empowered and able to live free from discrimination and violence through advocacy, primary prevention, capacity building and community-led initiatives. ZBGC is auspiced by Thorne Harbour Health, a community-controlled LGBTIQA+ health organisation
governed by its members.
