About the Foundation
The Neuroverse Foundation is a new non-profit organisation. Our organisation delivers peer support in the Mitchell Shire to parents/carers of neurodivergent children. The Neuroverse Foundation is supported by the Victorian Government and Carers Victoria. This support means we can diversify the support we offer and we’re looking for a passionate educator to join our team.
About the Role
- Casual Position
- Monthly support for 2-4 hours
- Ratio cover across the service
- $40 per hour (sub-contractor)
- Ideal for someone re-entering the workforce or just starting out
Essential skills and competencies
- Experience working with young children.
- Ability to plan and manage time effectively with limited direction.
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, staff and parents/carers.
- Work in a cooperative, flexible and professional manner with children, staff and parents/carers.
- Well-developed self-motivation skills.
- Ability to ensure confidentiality of information.
- Understand the importance of fostering children’s growth and development.
- An enthusiastic beginner looking to gain experience.
- A collaborative, warm, child-focused educator.
- Someone who values inclusion, creativity, and connection.
- An Australian citizen or permanent resident.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the delivery of the program including preparation of activities, general cleanliness and safety of the service and the packing away of equipment and materials as directed by the teacher.
- Prepare and supervise play and learning materials, maintain a safe, clean and appealing environment.
- Support the participation of children with additional needs.
- Perform basic first aid in emergencies.
- Help children with routines and promote health and safety concepts.
- Guide and promote positive social interactions between children.
- Be aware of, and assist with, implementing the organisation's policies and procedures.
- Other duties as directed.
Essential requirements
- MUST have own Australian Business Number (ABN).
- An approved Certificate III (or higher) Education and Care qualification or equivalent.
- A current Working with Children Check, which demonstrates suitability for employment with and around children.
- A current approved first aid qualification, anaphylaxis management training and emergency asthma management training, in accordance with the Education and Care Services National Regulations and service policies.
- Current driver's licence.
