Pro-Rata Salary Range of $72,400 to $98,100 Base (dependent on experience, skills and capabilities) plus 12% Superannuation + Smart Salary Packaging Benefit

The Opportunity: 

We are seeking an organised and customer-focused Research Training and Business Development Coordinator to support the delivery and growth of The George Institute’s Global External Research Training portfolio.

We are seeking an ultra organised individual to coordinate the planning and delivery of online, face-to-face and hybrid training programs, working closely with faculty, participants, partners and internal teams to ensure a high-quality experience. 

Our successful candidate will be a proactive and highly organised professional with strong communication skills, a commitment to exceptional service, and the ability to build relationships that help drive new training opportunities and partnerships across the research, healthcare, government and higher education sectors. 

Key Responsibilities and Duties: 

Research Training and Coordination

  • Coordinate the planning, preparation, delivery, and evaluation of external research training programs delivered online, face-to-face, and in hybrid formats.
  • Coordinate participant communications, registrations, attendance tracking, and certification processes.
  • Prepare and maintain course documentation, participant materials, schedules, learning resources,  operational templates, and program schedules.
  • Work closely and proactively with teaching faculty to coordinate their session activities, providing comprehensive support in preparing, formatting, and refining their PowerPoint (PPT) presentations, to ensure all teaching materials align with session learning objectives
  • Schedule faculty sessions, briefing meetings where necessary.
  • Maintain accurate program records, communication templates, databases, and reporting documentation and program risk log.

Training Delivery & Facilitation 

  • Provide operational support during the delivery of training programs and act as a key point of contact for participants and faculty.
  • Manage and troubleshoot online learning platforms, Zoom sessions, and hybrid delivery requirements.
  • Support participant learning activities, workshops, and group exercises under the guidance of faculty.
  • Assist with session facilitation, participant engagement, and linking sessions where required.
  • Monitor program delivery and identify, troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, escalating where appropriate.

Business Development & Customer Support 

  • Support the identification and development of new external research training opportunities.
  • Conduct market research and stakeholder mapping to identify potential clients and partners and emerging opportunities.
  • Act as the   first point of contact for partner and client enquiries, supporting  stakeholder engagement , relationship management, and follow-up activities.
  • Assist in progressing opportunities through the business development pipeline by coordinating client communications and maintaining engagement.
  • Support the preparation of proposals, presentations,  partnership agreements and other business development documentation.
  • Maintain accurateclient records, and business development tracking systems.
  • Contribute to the development of information packs, marketing materials, promotional campaigns, and alumni engagement activities that support program growth. 

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Relevant postgraduate qualification in clinical trials, public health, health research or a related field, with a demonstrated understanding of clinical trial and health research operations including study design, protocol development, research governance, and the broader clinical trials and medical research ecosystem.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in training and/or project coordination, with strong project management skills across planning, timelines, stakeholder coordination and delivery.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across cultures and represent the program professionally.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines, maintaining accuracy and follow-through during busy delivery periods.
  • Sound judgement, initiative and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve routine issues, escalate complex matters and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teams, Zoom and digital collaboration or learning platforms, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a global team, including during intensive delivery periods and across time zones.
  • Availability to work outside standard business hours and attend on-site activities in Sydney or internationally when required to support program delivery and global collaboration.

Desirable

  • Strong public speaking capability with direct experience independently facilitating both online interactive webinars and in-person professional development courses.
  • Experience working internationally with a range of external stakeholders.
  • Experience with Redcap and Padlet.
  • Business development experience
