Role Purpose

In this exciting position, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for our recruitment team. Leading our national recruitment team (8 staff) to source, inspire, coach and support exceptional and diverse individuals to apply to Teach For Australia’s Programs.

As a head of function, this position works collaboratively across the organisation, and the Recruitment, Admissions, Marketing and Placement Leadership Team to deliver strong outcomes for Teach for Australia.

To succeed in this position, you will need to be curious, adaptable, opportunity-focused and demonstrate a strong learning mindset. Holding a strong alignment with Teach For Australia’s values and commitment to equity in education.

What you will bring to the position (The key selection criteria) 

  • Demonstrated experience leading program recruitment, strategic partnerships, and business development, including lead pipeline management. Application of this experience in higher education and/or school settings is highly desirable.   
  • Demonstrated experience leading growth, including setting and implementing ambitious targets for meaningful impact. 
  • Senior team leadership experience, including building high performing teams. Coaching experience is highly desirable. Experience leading national teams who work largely remotely will be highly desirable.    
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, inspire and motivate people to develop meaningful professional relationships with potential program candidates and key stakeholders within organisations.    
  • Passion for the TFA vision, with outstanding interpersonal skills that model TFA’s values and ways of working and a strong personal alignment with our core values   
  • Demonstrated tenacity and resilience in tracking and leveraging key relationships to achieve targets
