The Benevolent Society’s vision is to build a just society where all Australians can live their best life. For more than 200 years we have supported people at the margins of society: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians; children, young people, and their families; older people; carers and people with disability. We are an independent, non-religious service provider which supports people to live life their way.
As part of The Benevolent Society's vision, we are strongly committed to reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people of Australia. We remain steadfast in our commitment to promoting the economic, political, and social inclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
As our Community Engagement Specialist, you will be the face of The Carer Gateway program, creating awareness and increasing uptake among the carers who need it most. Your core focus is to grow referrals by building strong partnerships, forging community connections, and engaging directly with carers.
You’ll bring curiosity, creativity, and initiative to the role, identifying gaps in the community and finding new ways to reach carers who may not yet know support is available. By building authentic relationships and approaching each interaction with warmth and purpose, you’ll help more carers access the free information, counselling, coaching, and practical assistance offered through Carer Gateway.
We are committed to ensuring your success in this role! To thrive with us, you should possess:
