Sydney Dogs & Cats Home is one of Australia's leading animal welfare organisations and Sydney's only charity pound. For over 80 years we've been providing care, shelter and second chances for lost, abandoned and surrendered animals while delivering vital services to communities across Sydney.

As we prepare for the opening of our new purpose-built Kurnell Community Facility, we're looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join our Leadership Team and help shape the future of our organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced operational leader who thrives on improving systems, supporting people and creating exceptional customer experiences.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational leadership of the organisation across multiple sites.

You will oversee our operational support functions including:

• Customer Care
• Volunteer Services
• Community Programs
• Facilities and maintenance
• Administration
• Technology and business systems
• Contractors and supplier management
• WHS and operational compliance
• Human Resources support
• Risk management and business improvement

You'll lead a dedicated team while working collaboratively with the Leadership Team to ensure our people, systems and facilities support the highest standards of animal welfare and customer service.

This is a varied, hands-on leadership role where no two days are the same.

About You

We're looking for someone who combines strong operational expertise with outstanding people leadership.

You will ideally bring:

• Demonstrated experience in a senior operations or business management role
• Experience leading and developing high-performing teams
• Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills
• Experience managing facilities, contractors, suppliers and business operations
• Financial and budget management experience
• Excellent organisational and project management skills
• Experience implementing operational improvements and business systems
• Strong communication, coaching and leadership capability
• Sound knowledge of WHS, compliance and risk management
• A collaborative, solutions-focused leadership style
• Current unrestricted driver's licence

Experience in the not-for-profit, community services and/or animal welfare sectors will be highly regarded.
