The Role

Are you passionate about supporting women and children experiencing domestic and family violence? Do you want to be part of a team that provides safety, dignity and a pathway forward out of crisis?

Join our team at Madonna House, where every day you will play a vital role in helping people rebuild their lives.

As a Crisis Support Worker, you will provide compassionate, practical and client-centered support to women and children accessing our crisis accommodation program.

Working across the full client journey, you’ll help clients stabilise, feel safe, and build the skills and confidence needed for independent living.
 
This is a Permanent, Part-time role (3 days per week) based in South Brisbane, with a rotating roster (including flexibility to support additional shifts when needed).

What you’ll be doing

• Provide holistic, trauma-informed support to clients experiencing domestic and family violence 
• Deliver case management, including assessment, safety planning and goal setting 
• Support clients to access safe housing, services and community connections 
• Advocate for clients and assist them to navigate complex systems 
• Build trust through respectful, strengths-based engagement 
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to a safe, well-run environment 
•  Work collaboratively within a supportive multidisciplinary team 

About You

You are empathetic, resilient and motivated to support people through challenging circumstances. You bring both professionalism and genuine care to your work.

You will have:

• Certificate III in Community Services (or similar) 
• Experience in homelessness, crisis accommodation, or community services 
• Understanding of domestic and family violence and trauma-informed practice 
• Strong communication, organisation and time management skills 
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team 
• A commitment to respect, dignity and client confidentiality 

You’ll also need:

• Current Blue Card 
• Eligibility to work in Australia 
• Willingness to complete required pre-employment checks
