Established in 1994, Catalyst Foundation is a reputable not-for-profit organisation and is the leading independent provider of community information on aged care and disability in SA. The organisation provides information, support and services to connect vulnerable individuals, their families and carers with service providers across South Australia in areas such as Disability, Aged Care, LGBTQIA+, and Veterans. Catalyst Foundation is committed to supporting people with making informed and independent decisions about the support and services they require to live healthy, active and engaged lives. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and driven Chief Executive Officer to join the Catalyst Foundation and create a positive impact within SA communities.

Role Overview

Reporting to and working closely with the Board, the Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the overall management of the Foundation in order to achieve the organisation’s objectives. This role will provide effective leadership to a team of 14 staff and over 50 volunteers to deliver aged care services and projects. The CEO will also focus on developing and maintaining relationships with a range of stakeholders, particularly service providers and other organisations across the Aged Care and Disability sectors. Other key responsibilities include identifying and delivering income generation opportunities, collaborating with others to promote and develop services through active communication and engagement, securing and maintaining funding, and managing organisational resources to ensure best practice business management, including financial and HR policies, processes and procedures.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

The successful candidate must have sound knowledge and understanding of the Aged Care System and aged care reforms, as well as a proven track record of effective organisational management at the executive senior leadership level, with a focus on developing staff through organisational change and delivering contractual and project outcomes. This role requires demonstrated experience in developing or managing aged care and disability services, strong commercial acumen, financial management and business development experience, particularly in generating new income streams and driving positive outcomes for the organisation. The Catalyst Foundation is seeking a resourceful and hands on leader with excellent written and verbal communication skills, who can establish and maintain effective relationships with a range of stakeholders across the sectors, community and government. Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience developing services and programs in the Aged Care sector are the requirements for this role.
