Seniors Community Care is a longstanding community-based organisation with a vision for community care that supports the aged, frail and disabled people living within their community and supported by services to maintain their independence. Seniors Community Care is owned by St John Ambulance (Vic) who has been saving lives and delivering care and compassion throughout Victoria for 140 years. Our volunteers and our staff are the lifeblood of everything we do. We are currently recruiting for a General Manager to oversee Seniors Community Care.

The Opportunity

The General Manager - In Home Care will be responsible for leading Seniors Community Care business to ensure that effective service delivery and quality of care standards are met. The role will oversee the operational requirements including standard of care, legislative requirements, certifications, licensing accreditation, workforce planning, systems and business operations.

We are looking for someone who is motivated and passionate about aged care and the delivery of high-quality customer care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day to day operational and technology activities of the business
  • Lead the planning options and strategies that will ensure Seniors Community Care moves toward its long-term growth and development goals
  • Lead by example by displaying and encouraging behaviours essential to the delivery of quality outcomes
  • Manage the performance of employees by providing clear expectations, goals and guidelines
  • Ensure that Seniors Community Care meets it financial and regulatory obligations to all stakeholders
  • Oversee financial and budgetary performance and costs to maximise revenue and achieve budget targets

Your experience

  • Extensive senior leadership in aged care management, in particular in-home care services
  • Strong understanding of Home Care Package Program management
  • You will hold a tertiary qualification in a business management or Health Administration or related discipline or significant business related experience
  • Understanding of government funded community care programs would be highly regarded
  • Knowledge of current issues and trends in health care and policy areas including Aged Care Act 1997
  • You will be able to identify and engage key stakeholders and form strong business relationships
  • You will have experience in identify the key drivers in risk and reward relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve better business outcomes through developing initiatives and improvements leading to cost reduction and improved outcomes
  • People leadership, leading with openness, encouragement, collaboration and flexibility
  • Well-developed relationship building and networking skills while being a strong team player
  • Well-developed facilitation skills with the ability to present to all levels of management
  • The ability to inspire trust, lead and build a specialist team operating at high performance levels
