We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join our Local Area Coordination (LAC) Program as Manager Business Improvement and Compliance. This is an exciting opportunity to drive innovation, quality, compliance and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance outcomes for people with disability, strengthen organisational performance and support service excellence across one of Australia's largest disability programs.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Disability Services, the Manager Business Improvement and Compliance is a key leadership role responsible for leading strategic projects, quality and compliance initiatives, organisational change and continuous improvement across SSI's Local Area Coordination Program. You will lead a team of Project Officers and Quality & Training Officers, oversee program-wide compliance and governance frameworks, drive innovation and workforce capability initiatives, and ensure the program continues to meet contractual obligations and quality standards. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will identify opportunities to improve service delivery, strengthen operational performance, manage risk and contribute to SSI's reputation as a leader in the disability and community services sector

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Lead innovative projects and business improvement initiatives that strengthen participant outcomes, workforce capability and social impact.
  • Drive organisational change, program transformation and continuous improvement initiatives across the LAC Program.
  • Monitor quality performance and audit outcomes, ensuring alignment with NDIA and program requirements.
  • Prepare and contribute to strategic reports, business cases, funding submissions and organisational planning activities.
  • Build and maintain productive partnerships with the NDIA, community organisations and key stakeholders.
  • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team that promotes a culture of quality, accountability, learning and continuous improvement.

You combine strategic thinking with operational excellence and are confident influencing decisions, leading teams and delivering outcomes in a dynamic service environment.

Essential Experience and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Services, Disability, Allied Health, Social Work, Community Services or a related discipline.
  • Minimum five years' leadership experience within community services, disability services, human services or the not-for-profit sector.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale business improvement, organisational change, service development or transformation projects.
  • Strong understanding of compliance, governance, quality assurance, risk management and policy frameworks.
  • Experience developing, reviewing and implementing policies, procedures and organisational frameworks.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with proven success developing high-performing teams and positive workplace culture.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and report-writing skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including experience working collaboratively with government agencies, community organisations and cross-functional teams.
