  • Salary range: $90,661-$94,802 + salary packaging + super.

About the role

The Project Officer – Community Partner will support SNAICC as it commences multiple streams of work with the Department of Education on the Connected Beginnings and Community Child Care Fund Restricted (CCCFR) Expansion projects. The Project Officer – Community Partner will, under the guidance of the Senior Project Officer – Community Partners, focus on developing support and advocacy strategies for the 20 new CCCFR sites being established. This role will work closely with the Connected Beginnings project, community leaders and local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and Aboriginal community-controlled organisations (ACCOs) to best meet community needs.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander
  • Is willing to travel to remote and very remote communities.
  • Has a broad knowledge and understanding of issues impacting upon Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families, with a commitment to the rights, needs and aspirations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families.
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated capacity to produce high-quality documents, evidence-based reports, and submission.
  • Has demonstrated experience and ability to work and liaise with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and organisations; and facilitate their involvement in consultations and community strengthening processes.
  • Has an understanding of, or interest in developing, a good working knowledge of the Australian children’s education and care sector, current issues and emerging trends within the National Quality Framework.
  • Has experience in project management including the ability to work collaboratively with project stakeholders, develop and implement project work plans and meet deadlines.
  • Has excellent workplace skills including the ability to work as part of a team from diverse cultural backgrounds, to manage competing demands and to seek and offer support as appropriate.
