Community Engagement Coordinator - South Australia

Red Nose

About Red Nose

Red Nose, including Sands, is a national charity working to save little lives and support anyone impacted by the death of a baby or young child.

About the Role

We are seeking a Community Engagement Coordinator help grow and nurture our community of bereaved parents across South Australia.

This role is 15 hours per week and is offered on a fixed term basis until March 2022.

We know grief, and especially grief following the death of a baby or child, is a tough subject – many of our staff and all of our volunteers have lived it.

We know it’s not always easy to talk about, but our community engagement team is dedicated to creating opportunities for bereaved families to publicly acknowledge their baby or child who has died, and to connect with other bereaved families who have had similar experiences.

About You

We are looking for someone with a deep understanding of what it is like to experience pregnancy, infant or child loss, and a person who has excellent community development skills.

It’s a busy job, and you will find yourself working at the strategic level one minute and then at an administrative level the next. You need to be willing to do whatever is needed and you will need a caring and compassionate approach to everything you do.

You will write grant submissions, organise big events, deliver presentations, and be there with a box of tissues to support a bereaved parent when needed.

It’s also a flexible role. You’ll be out in the community a lot and sometimes work your hours around planned events. You’ll be able to work some of the time from our Clothing Collection base in Windsor Gardens but will also have the opportunity to work from home.

If this sounds like the kind of challenge you are looking for, and you are keen to join an enthusiastic, caring and hardworking team then this might be the role for you.
