South Eastern Melbourne Primary Health Network (SEMPHN) works primarily on behalf of the Australian Government to improve local health care. They want everyone in their local community to be able to access the right care, in the right place, at the right time. SEMPHN are working to achieve this goal by improving access to existing services, commissioning new services to improve health outcomes, and encouraging GPs and others to innovate and further improve local health care. A vacancy has arisen for an experienced Corporate Services professional with a strong Finance/Accounting background to join SEMPHN as they continue to build their reputation as one of the leading Primary Health Networks.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role will form part of the Executive Leadership Team and be responsible for the strategic leadership and operational performance of the budgets and financial management and administration of the organisation. This will include managing a team responsible for finance, quality and risk and office management functions. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team this role will also contribute to identifying and developing strategies to support the growth and development of the organisational culture of SEMPHN. Key to your success in this role is being able to provide timely and accurate financial reports to the Board and the Finance, Audit, Risk Committee. The General Manager Corporate Services will be expected to build effective working relationships across the organisation and ensure that all systems, policies and procedures are compliant with applicable legislation, funding body requirements and aligned to best practice.

As a relatively new organisation SEMPHN is still in the process of building robust systems, policies and procedures to drive efficiency and integration to enable more effective outcomes; the new General Manager Corporate Services will relish the opportunity to roll up their sleeves, be hands-on and identify opportunities for improvement across the relevant functions, and be able to drive cost effective change across the organisation.

To be considered for this important position you will possess a relevant Accounting qualification and be a member of a related professional body ICA/CPA. With strong accounting and financial management and reporting skills you will ideally have had previous experience in a similar position in the Government, health, community or related sectors. Your values will be aligned to those of SEMPHN with a service orientation, constantly looking for innovative ways to improve performance. You will lead by example and drive high standards of performance through a relationship – driven, people focused and collaborative style of working. Previous experience in playing a key role in new system implementations successfully will be highly regarded.
