SECL delivers a wide range of services to meet the needs of people in our community including emergency relief, case work, housing support, youth and family services, financial counselling and resettlement services for refugees and asylum seekers.  

Position context

As part of our Community & Financial Wellbeing services area, we are seeking to appoint a dynamic individual who has a strong commitment to the provision of financial counselling services within a community environment.

This person will work towards alleviating the secondary effects on the community as a result of the current health and economic environment.  Advanced skills in financial assessment, goal setting and outcome measurement along with supervision and mentoring are essential. This dynamic role incorporates service delivery and involvement in the rollout of the SECL ‘Bridge’, our integrated service framework across the workforce.

This part time, fixed term role until 30 June 2021,  will enable you to work across the southern metropolitan area and will work closely with agencies to promote and provide a responsive service to those in need.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Client and community engaged through SECL's Bridge to Social & Economic Mobility framework and responsive front-line service delivery
  • Front line service delivery targets and objectives met with a focus on appropriate and sustainable outcomes for clients and communities
  • Client and service data reporting completed with accuracy, efficiency and within prescribed timelines
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of front-line service delivery systems and processes
  • Contribute to advocacy strategies and evidence bases through recording, identifying and reporting emerging trends and unmet needs within front line service delivery
  • Contribute to the achievement of SECL's Strategic Plan through organisational participation, enthusiasm for change projects and active support for service integration across programs and teams

Remuneration is based on SCHADS Industry Award including attractive salary and conditions, with salary packaging options.
