South East Community Links has co-designed a mentorship program with key community members to assist migrant women from culturally diverse backgrounds. The mentorship program aims to assist migrant women to achieve their individual employment and education goals. We are looking for professionals or recently retired individuals that can commit to volunteering for 2 hours one day a week for a period of 6-12 months.
For 50 years South East Community Links (SECL) has delivered life changing economic and social outcomes for people in the community with the belief ‘Every person counts, every system fair’. With several locations across the South East of Melbourne, our services include emergency relief, case work, homelessness – housing support; youth and family services; employment support; domestic violence support; financial counselling; resettlement services for refugees and asylum seekers.
Mentees come from the Greater Dandenong and Casey region and will be supported by a one-on-one mentor partnership that will guide them through the program.
As a mentor you will assist the mentee to understand education and employment in an Australian setting and work with your mentee to identify their strengths, skills, and barriers to finding employment.

As an interested volunteer mentor, you will need to attend an interview and an induction training session in which your suitability and preferences will be taken into consideration to ensure this mentorship program is for you.
To take part in the program you must be willing to complete screening, checks, our training and induction program and proof of vaccination status will be required.
