Remote / Work from Home
When disasters strike, children are always the most vulnerable. That's why Save the Children stands ready to deploy, providing immediate psychosocial support and staying as long as it takes to help children and families recover from their losses, restore their lives and build their resilience for years to come. Our newly established Journey of Hope (JoH) program works with children both in schools and online in bushfire affected communities, led by facilitators who are professionally trained in managing child trauma. We need a passionate leader to drive our dedicated team to maximise the impact of the JoH program on the lives of children and families.
We're ambitious, creative and outspoken. We stand up for children's rights. We want all children to be educated, healthy and live a life free from violence. We run programs in Australia and overseas and, if there's a disaster - like a bushfire, earthquake, drought or conflict - we are there on the ground.
In this full-time, fixed term position (six months, with potential to extend), you'll lead a team of facilitators to deliver the JoH program in the Shoalhaven, Mid-Coast and Snowy Valleys. You'll work in partnership with schools and early childhood providers, ensuring high quality service delivery in accordance with the agreed implementation plan. Based from home, ideally in Nowra or Ulladulla, you'll be willing to travel throughout the region and will report to our Manager - Journey of Hope.
… You respond calmly to crisis situations, and you have credible expertise in working with children who have experienced traumatic events. Your engaging approach helps you motivate high-performing teams, and you're committed to the highest standards of service delivery. You're proactive, creative and flexible in your approach to working with families and children, using a trauma-informed, strengths-based framework.
It's the feeling of knowing that your work is contributing to making the world a better place for children and working with others who feel the same. In addition to a connection to social causes, you will have access to:
