2 positions are available. 

South Australian Native Title Services (SANTS) is the Native Title Service Provider for South Australia. We assist Traditional Owners to govern and lead their communities through self-determination to realise their social, cultural and economic aspirations. 

We are seeking two dedicated professionals to join our Corporate and Community Development Team as Senior Corporate and Community Development Officers.

The roles work with native title corporations and Traditional Owners to help manage and build on native title and deliver key strategic outcomes in corporate governance, community and economic development, stakeholder engagement, and looking after culture and country. 

The roles report to the Manager of Corporate and Community Development.

Role details

The Senior Corporate and Community Development Officer is a professional role that manages complex engagements and projects and works with high level of autonomy. Working with native title leadership, the roles:

  • Provide executive officer level support to native title corporations to govern and lead.
  • Facilitate native title corporations engagement with stakeholders.
  • Support agreement making processes to protect native title and deliver Traditional Owner driven outcomes.
  • Identify, co-develop and co-deliver strategic projects and initiatives.
  • Build the capability of native title corporations to self-manage, develop and grow.

Role requirements

  • Tertiary Qualifications in relevant area (e.g., Indigenous affairs; community development/management; stakeholder engagement; project management), or equivalent substantial experience.
  • Strong working knowledge Indigenous affairs in area of specialty.
  • Proven ability to engage effectively with Indigenous communities and organisations, including native title groups.
  • Advanced project management and service delivery with capacity to work autonomously and manage complexity.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diversity of stakeholders including native title groups, governments and industry sectors.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the principles and practices of Equal Employment Opportunity, and Workplace Health and Safety.
  • Current South Australian Driver’s Licence, including 4WD experience.

The roles are full-time permanent, based in the Adelaide CBD but will require intra and interstate travel.
