Rye Community House is seeking a passionate and experienced leader to join our organisation as Board Chair.

Rye Community House is a vibrant community organisation committed to strengthening our local community through inclusive programs, learning opportunities, social connection, and support services. We provide a welcoming place where people can learn, connect and thrive.

As Board Chair, you will play a critical role in guiding the strategic direction and governance of the organisation, working closely with the Board and the Executive Officer to ensure Rye Community House continues to deliver meaningful outcomes for our community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to the Board and ensure effective governance practices
  • Facilitate and chair Board meetings in accordance with good governance standards
  • Support the development and implementation of the organisation’s strategic direction
  • Work collaboratively with the Executive Officer to support organisational leadership and performance
  • Ensure the Board fulfils its legal, financial and regulatory responsibilities
  • Act as an ambassador for Rye Community House within the local community and stakeholder networks

Skills and Experience

We welcome expressions of interest from individuals with experience in areas such as:

  • Board governance and leadership
  • Community services, education, or the not-for-profit sector
  • Strategic planning and organisational leadership
  • Financial oversight or risk management
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills

Previous Board experience and an understanding of governance in incorporated associations or community organisations will be highly regarded.

Time Commitment
