This is a unique opportunity to join Rosebank Child Sexual Abuse Service Inc. One of NSW’s longest-standing sexual abuse services. We are seeking an experienced and passionate counsellor to join our small, cohesive team and provide long‑term, trauma‑informed therapeutic support to children, young people and their families.

About Rosebank

Rosebank Child Sexual Abuse Service Inc. provides free, long‑term face to face sexual assault counselling to children, young people and their families from Liverpool, Fairfield and Campbelltown. As one of the oldest services of our kind in NSW, we have developed specialised expertise in building trust, breaking down barriers created by sexual abuse, and creating safe, non‑judgemental spaces where children and young people can shape their own healing journey.

We are a small, supportive organisation with a strong focus on team cohesion and high‑quality therapeutic practice.

About the Role

You will provide specialised counselling and advocacy to children, young people and non‑offending family members. This includes:

  • Long‑term, trauma‑informed counselling and creative therapeutic support
  • Group work with children and young people
  • Support for children under 10 with problematic or harmful sexualised behaviours
  • Advocacy and referral support for families
  • Court preparation for clients attending court
  • Working within a child protection interagency framework
  • Maintaining accurate client records and meeting professional and organisational standards
  • Participating in supervision, team meetings, strategic planning and community education
  • Building strong relationships with local services, schools and community organisations

Key Requirements

  • Qualifications in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years experience supporting children, young people and families impacted by sexual assault
  • Demonstrated clinical counselling experience
  • Strong understanding of trauma, sexual violence, power and control, and the impacts of child sexual abuse
  • Experience using child‑centred and trauma‑informed frameworks
  • Advocacy and therapeutic case management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a small, supportive team
  • Experience working with diverse communities
  • Working With Children Check and Criminal Record Checks

Desirable Strengths
