Queensland Sexual Assault Network Inc.

The Queensland Sexual Assault Network (QSAN) is the peak body for specialist sexual violence support and prevention services in Queensland.

We work with specialist sexual violence services, government, community organisations and people with lived experience of sexual violence to strengthen responses to sexual violence, build workforce capability, influence policy reform and improve outcomes for victim-survivors across Queensland.

As QSAN grows, we are seeking a skilled and values-driven Research and Data Analyst to strengthen the evidence base that informs advocacy, policy development and sector reform across Queensland.

This is an exciting opportunity to support systemic change by turning research, data and lived experience insights into evidence-informed policy and advocacy.

About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Services and Member Engagement, this role will support QSAN’s policy, research and advocacy work through high-quality research, analysis and policy development.

The role works with QSAN members, government agencies, research partners and lived experience representatives to strengthen sector knowledge, identify emerging issues and support evidence-informed reform.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Support statewide data collection, reporting and evaluation
  • Conduct research, literature reviews and environmental scans
  • Analyse quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, gaps and opportunities
  • Use data to inform policy briefs, submissions, reports and recommendations
  • Work with member services, research partners and lived experience groups
  • Contribute to organisational reporting, planning and continuous improvement

About You

You are a curious and analytical professional with strong research, writing and stakeholder engagement skills, and a commitment to social justice and evidence-informed practice.

You will also bring:

  • Experience in research, data analysis and/or policy development
  • Strong analytical thinking and the ability to synthesise complex information
  • Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practice, gender-based violence and feminist frameworks
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline are required.

Experience working within the community services sector, peak bodies or specialist sexual violence services will be highly regarded.

Location and Conditions

  • This role can be based anywhere in Queensland (hybrid working arrangements if based in Brisbane)
  • Permanent full-time position (4 days per week considered)
  • SCHADS Award Level 6
