About the role
Penrith Women’s Health Centre is seeking a skilled Domestic & Family Violence Case Worker to join our Safety and Empowerment Services team. This role delivers DFV case management, supporting women and their children to improve safety, stability and wellbeing using a trauma-informed, client-centred and strengths-based approach. You will be part of a small, dedicated team providing a range of safety and empowerment services, including case management, advocacy, referral coordination, education and practical supports. Our work is guided by national, state and local plans to reduce violence against women and their children.

Selection Criteria
Essential
- Degree or diploma-level qualification in a relevant field such as social work, psychology, counselling, community services, welfare or criminology, together with 2-3 years relevant DFV sector experience.
- Demonstrated experience working with women and children impacted by domestic and family violence.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake DFV risk assessment, safety planning, advocacy, case management, case coordination and referral support.e coordination and referral support.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed, client-centred, strengths-based and culturally safe practice.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in casework and outreach settings and to maintain safe practice across multiple locations.
- High-level communication, documentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a broad range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated understanding of confidentiality, privacy, information-sharing, mandatory reporting and professional boundaries in DFV practice.
- Demonstrated understanding of cultural safety and the ability to work respectfully with Aboriginal people and people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
- Demonstrated understanding of confidentiality, privacy, mandatory reporting and professional boundaries in DFV practice.
Desirable
- Experience in SHLV, safe-at-home, outreach or community-based DFV service delivery.
- Understanding of feminist principles and values in service delivery.
- Previous experience in a not-for-profit or community services setting.
Other Requirements
- Current driver license and capacity to work across Penrith, Hawkesbury, the Hills District as required for service delivery.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Australia.
- Current National Police Check.
- Current NSW Working With Children Check.
